HANNUKAH - SHABBAT & ROSH CHODESH! This Shabbat is unique in that three Torah scrolls are taken from the ark and read from in the public Torah reading: one scroll for the weekly Parshah, a second scroll for the Rosh Chodesh reading, and a third scroll for the Chanukah reading.

About the event
We have come up with what we think is wonderful idea! Celebrating Hanukkah on Shabbat can create a special and meaningful experience. Here are some ideas to help plan the celebration:
Special Blessings: Recite the Hanukkah blessings along with the Shabbat prayers. We can also sing traditional songs like "Maoz Tzur" and "Shalom Aleichem."
Festive Meal: We'll have a special Shabbat Kiddush Luncheon with traditional Hanukkah foods such as latkes and sufganiyot. Or, if you like, make a suggestion of your favourite family treat, or sponsor the kiddush Luncheon Party.
Games and Activities: We'll have music and dreidels. With chocolate gelt and stickers for the children.
Storytelling: Share the story of Hanukkah and its significance, perhaps incorporating personal family stories or reflections. The microphone will be on.
By combining the traditions of Hanukkah and Shabbat, we can create a memorable and joyous celebration for everyone involved. Enjoy the festivities!
